Brandon Rhodes
For 16 years Brandon has written and maintained the PyEphem library for amateur astronomers. He is the author of Foundations of Python Network Programming, was an architect of the New England Wildflower Society’s Django-powered Go Botany web site, and tries to share everything he learns with the community that has given him such a great programming language for free. He currently works for Dropbox.
Brandon has been using Python since 1997 or 1998 (the exact year has been lost to history) and is this year's Pycon chair.
